The campaign to decriminalise abortion across the UK

#NowforNI briefings

On Friday 25th May 2018, the Republic of Ireland voted to repeal the 8th Amendment to the Irish Constitution in a landslide. That vote will allow Irish women for the first time to access abortion services in their own country.

But women in Northern Ireland - part of the UK - do not have the same rights. That’s why BPAS is fighting alongside Alliance for Choice Northern Ireland, the Northern Ireland Family Planning Association, and Amnesty International Northern Ireland, London-Irish Abortion Rights Campaign and others to decriminalise abortion and allow Northern Irish bodies the ability to provide the best medical care for women within their own borders.

You can find here more information about the campaign. If you would like to know more please contact us at [email protected].
